Over due update!!

Alrighty then...

Goodness, last time we chatted, I was so worried about Monday, and now it's FRIDAY!
The IFSP went great! And Amy...you were right. His therapists overrode the tests. He was only a little behind in fine motor, and she, the OT, kept saying..."I SO don't want to discharge him!!" The main concern besides speech, is keeping an eye on him. Checking in with him so to speak. So we have gone down to once a month with Teacher lady, and OT. He still get's speech 3 times a month, so every ten days or so, and Musikgarten, his little music class, once a week. They are also refering him for the little preschool. That is twice a week, for an hour and a half. WITHOUT ME!!!!!!!!! Not quite sure how I feel about that...I will be a few months before he starts that anyway. Probably not till summer anyway. And I may wait untill after we get back from Myrtle Beach!

The play tryouts went great! I love the whole process. They really do a great job. First they tell the kids about the play, and BEING in a play. They talk about commitment, and doing your best. They tell them, if you can't make a rehearsal, don't try out. They are trying to do a play in a week. Soccer baseball, parties...all have to wait, if you want to do the play. There have been a few years we have had too many other commitments, and couldn't do it. But sadly, some people think they are the exception to the rule... Last year even, Parker got sick at the beginning of the week, and had to drop out. It's a great lesson in commitment they teach.

Then they line up the kids in a BIG circle, and have them count off. Now they know how many kids, and didn't have to count themselves. It also gives them an idea of their "stage presence", before the even ask them to do anything. Then they go thr5ough a series of "tell us your name and age. Then tell us, as if you were a pirate! Then they have certain age groups do specific things. They had the little ones, K-2nd play Simon says, seeing how well they move, AND follow directions! The older kids, 12 and up, they taught them a paragraph, and they had to repeat it, in different charactors. One time they had to say it nerdy. Most of the had a southern accent. I thought that was funny. The age in between them, Parker's age, had to say a phrase a couple different ways. Then they had them all sing row row row your boat, like 20 times. NOT my favorite part...but it gives them a good idea of who can sing and stay on the beat...ish! :)

They play is written to incorporate LOTS of kids. So they give individuale parts, to the older kids. Then 3rd thru like 5th and K-2nd are a group. They little kids usually just have cute costumes, and come on stage only maybe 3 times, sing a little song, and do a little dance, and leave. It's WAY cute! The older set, will have some lines, and are on stage more. They also pick about 4 older kids, to be Assistant Directors. Last year, Nick was in charge of the sound. He hit play, when it was time! haha...

So THIS YEAR... Nick is again, an assistant director. He helps the older group of kids (Parker's group) learn their parts. He loves being in charge. Hmmm...wonder where he get's that? And Parker, is part of a silly group of kids who run around scaring people or something. They are both really excited. THey are having a blast! I can't believe it's friday already! It's been so quiet around here... :)

So if you're around...Try to come see it! They are doing it at 3 and 7, This Saturday, tomorrow. The 12th! Contact me, and I'll tell ya where!

And sorry for my long absence, my laptop is broken. I was on it the other day, and got a HUGE wave of nausua. So I set it down, open and went to the bathroom. I was so suddenly sick, I went straigh to bed. Luckily DH was home. While I was sleeping, I heard a LOUD CRASH! Yep, laptop. Jack had pushed it off, and it landed on the florr, upside down. UGH. And I just haven't had the time of the strength to deal with the idiots, geeks who think they know everything! Ya know? And the fact I live with a computor hog, limits me abit... so I jump on when I can!

And one of the other things from Monday, I was waiting to hear if I got job, but I didn't! *rolling eyes* I'll just keep looking. I did find a "home party" company last night that looks interesting. Check it out....what do YOU think... http://www.uppercaseliving.com/ They have the neatest stuff, and it's not outragously expencive. So, I'm thinkin about that...and a few other things.

Emma, has dance pictures tomorrow. Oh the horror! Do I doll her all up? Do I attempt to do her hair? Ugh ugh ugh...is all I can say. Her teacher wants them to have ringlets. Um ya...Emma can have ringlets.

Oh, and here's a recent picture of Jack, that just cracks me up. He was laughing hysterically! Can you tell!?!?

Monday is gonna be busy

Monday, is coming fast, and it has lots of things in store.

First off, we have Jack's IFSP-(parent teacher conference for infants). I have mixed feelings about it. I have loved his therapists, all of them. I love having them in our home. I consider them friends. Jack is doing so well, I am wondering what services they will take away. What friends, we will stop playing with. It feels stupid, to NOT want him to do well, so we can continue to get services.

We did most of the "testing", which is standerized...SO ANNOYING... but he did well. His motor skills are great. His fine motor is great. He can jump, catch a ball, kick, and walk on his tippy toes. His speech is coming along. He's getting more and more signs, that he will do spontaniously. And he copies the ones we show him. Granted, it's a very modified, JACK version...but he does them. But the only "words" he has, are Mom, HUH?, uh oh!, NO! He can meow, pant like a dog, and does a "Jack version" of roar, quack, and neigh. I don't remember if I told this here, but when we tell him to say something...he mouths it. NO SOUND! Just moves his mouth. And usually nods his head. It's funny. Reminds me of when I was waitressing, and in training they taught to nod your head when you ask if the want a drink! HAHA...

So we'll see how the meeting goes, and what conclusions will be made. For 2 years, I've been excited for him to go to special ed preschool. Now I worry he won't qualify. Part of me wants him to be around "regular" kids, the other wants him to stay FAR away from them. And with special ed, he will go when he turns three, not on the school year. There's the whole bus issue too...ya..he is SO NOT going on the bus- at 3!!!!!!! Some say speech will qualify him. Some say the hydro, and cleft will qualify him. WHo knows for sure. I know, I know, it's a year away...but hey...I'm SO GOOD at freaking out, before it's neccessary! :)

Then after school, are tryouts for Missoula Children's Theater. It's a wonderful company that travels around the country, putting on shows, in a week. The tryouts, will be tomorrow from 4-6, they will pick the cast and crew, then practice all week, and perform it on Sat. It is TRUELY amazing what they pull off. The most amazing thing...it's not painful at ALL!! heehee...I know you've been to plays that were painful...

So Nick and Parker are trying for that. hmmm...Emma is 5, but I think she has to be in kindergarten. Eh...we'll see.

There's a few other things, that I don't feel like devulging quite yet. But soon. Ya know, I LOVE to be busy, thrive on it as a matter of fact. It's going into it, that freaks me out!!

Wish me luck!

Adventures in Mothering

After Jack and I picked up Emma from school, I thought it would be fun to go to lunch somewhere with a play place. Emma was SO excited!! So we are getting out of the car-always a task- and for some reason, I had the passenger door open. I got Jack out, and turned around to close the door, and realized, by the screams erupting from Jack, I had swung him into the open door. So I just hugged him, and let him scream for a minute. Then I said, "Let me see baby..." And then...there was blood. Now mind you...I never like to SEE blood on the baby, but this time was MY FAULT. And remember, we are getting out of the car at a fastfood restaurant. Oh, and I have NO diaper bag, since we went on a whim. So I have a SCREAMING baby, blood coming faster and faster, and no means of blotting it. Oh, and did I mention Emma, standing in the parking lot saying..."MOOOOM...can we go in now... PUUULLLLEEEEAAASSSE??!?!?!?!?!?!?" I kept telling her, he was bleeding...but she way too lost in her own fast food stuper, to realize Jack was bleeding.

So I sat in the passenger seat, trying to calm Jack and find something to stop the bleeding. I found a napkin from a previous fast food bag...yes ...I know I have a problem...and realize it is FREEZING outside, and Emma is still in the parking lot. So I tell her to get back in the car, she climbs in the car thru the sliding door, and stands in the open doorway. Dancing. So I tell her to close the door, and proceed to close mine. Jack is thrashing about, so blood is getting all over him, and then Emma starts screaming...because...I HAD SHUT HER FINGERS IN THE DOOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh... My... Hell.

Now I have a bleeding, screaming two yr old, and a throbbing ring fingered, screaming 5 yr old. I think Jack realized his was now less traumatic, and stopped crying. Of course Emma being the drama queen she is, is SCREAMING!!!! So I get the head lac, to stop bleeding long enough to evaluate it, to see if a drive to PCMC is in order. But now I play the game I love. DO I take him ALL the way up there, do I run to the store that is 50 yards away and buy steri strips, do I call my dr office, and see if they will fix it. So I take a picture of it with my phone, and send it
to my Mom's email. She says, "I can't see anything!" Ugh.

So I called my Dr office, and of course, it's Wed and MY Dr is off, and NOW...they are at lunch. I may have said this before, but when it comes to Jack, I don't trust just anyone with him. So I decided to go up to the ER. I get up there...and once again... there are NO parking spaces. I had to park at the other end of the hospital, and go in the back way to the ER. They said, "What can we do for you?" I said, "Just gimme some glue, and I'll be on my way." Cuz half way up there, I realized...it's RSV season. WHAT was I thinking? The place was FULL of hacking kids.

*sigh*

They put some lidocane on his forehead, and made a head band out of coflex...um ya...it lasted like 5 mins. But I did get some wicked cute pictures. :)

So anyway, we finally get called back, and they put us in a trauma room. *sigh* again. A 2 bed room with a curtain to separate the two. Need I remind you, Jack is not sick. AND...it's the trauma room they use when the bring kids in, in an ambulance. We were actually in the adjacent room, when Emma got her staples, and there was a very sick little girl in there, while Emma and I waited for her staples.

So then I start panicking...looking around. I saw the huge digital clock on the wall, and wondered how many times, someone had looked up at that clock, and said..."Time of death". I saw the chest tube kits, the arterial line kits, the trach kits. ugh...it was bad.

Then I looked at my sweet little boy, with his tiny head lac, running around the room pushing the stool. I said to him, let's dance, and bring some happiness to this room. So we did.

I told the Dr I figured he'd only need some glue, and to have it irrigated, since I DID hit him with a dirty door, and blotted it with a napkin that was floating around in the car. He agreed. So the nurse came in and irrigated it, and put another "bandaid" on it. Um ya, the first one lasted longer, but again, I got a picture first. Right after I took the picture, he reached up, grabbed it, and threw it on the floor. *rolling eyes*

I love it when the Dr's agree with me, and he got his head glued back together and they sent us on our way.

I HAD to go to the cafeteria, and get my favorite white coco, macadamia cookies, and there was a lady playing the harp in the foyer. Jack thought it was SO cool!!

So that was OUR adventure for the day! I'm pooped...and the baby has a shiny purple dab of glue holding his forehead together. ;)

Toddler Diet

I found this today. I have seen it before, but something about having a toddler, it struck my funny bone today! Oh how I love my toddler. Today...he pulled a bowl of cereal off the counter, left there by a NON toddler. Sometimes I catch it on film, but today's mess was too big, and I was NOT in the mood. But I did find a few of my favorite messes, that were perfect for illustrations!

Hope you like it too. Oh, I didn't write it. Although I could have!

Over the years you may have noticed, as I have, that most
two-year-olds are trim. It came to me one day over a cup of black
coffee and a carrot that perhaps their diet is the reason. After
consultation with pediatricians, X-ray technicians, and distraught
moms, I was able to formulate this new diet. It is inexpensive,
offering great variety and sufficient quantity. Before embarking on
this diet, however, be sure to check with your doctor... otherwise you
might have to see him afterward. Good luck!

DAY ONE
-------
Breakfast
One scrambled egg, one piece of toast with grape jelly.
Eat 2 bites of egg, using your fingers; dump the rest on the
floor.
Take 1 bite of toast, then smear the jelly over your face and
clothes.

Lunch
Four crayons (any color), a handful of potato chips, and a
glass of milk (3 sips only, then spill the rest).

Dinner
A dry stick, two pennies and a nickel.

Bedtime Snack
Toast piece of bread and toss it on the kitchen floor.

DAY TWO
-------
Breakfast
Pick up stale toast from kitchen floor and eat it. Drink half
bottle of vanilla extract or one vial of vegetable dye.

Lunch
Half a tube of "Pulsating Pink" lipstick and a handful of
Purina Dog Chow (any flavor). One ice cube, if desired.

Afternoon Snack
Lick an all-day sucker until sticky, take outside, drop in
dirt. Retrieve and continue slurping until it is clean again.
Then bring inside and drop on the rug.

Dinner
A rock or an uncooked bean, which should be thrust up your left
nostril. Pour iced tea over mashed potatoes; eat with a spoon.

DAY THREE
---------
Breakfast
Two pancakes with plenty of syrup, eat with fingers, rub in
hair. Glass of milk: drink half, stuff pancakes in glass.
After breakfast, pick up yesterday's sucker from rug, lick off
fuzz, and put it on the cushion of your best chair.

Lunch
Three matches, peanut-butter and jelly sandwich. Spit several
bites onto the floor. Pour glass of milk on table and slurp up.

Dinner
Dish of ice cream, handful of potato chips.

FINAL DAY
---------

A quarter-tube of toothpaste (any flavor), bit of soap, an
olive. Pour a glass of milk over bowl of cornflakes, add a
half-cup of sugar. Once cereal is soggy, drink milk and feed
cereal to dog.

Lunch
Eat crumbs off kitchen floor and dining room carpet. Find that
sucker and finish eating it.

Dinner
A glass of spaghetti and chocolate milk. Leave meatball on
plate. Stick of mascara for dessert

Middle of the night adventures

So as I went to bed last night, I walked past Jack, and said to myself, "I can't believe I finally got a kid who sleeps through the night." Guess who woke up, when DH came to bed...at 2:22? So I ignored him, and it seemed as if he was going back to sleep. Then PARKER....came in...and he sat right up! When Parker left, he lost it. So I got up, and tucked him in between us. All the while, Parker is in the living room with all the lights on. All of a sudden, I hear him say, "HI!", he sits up, climbs over me, and kicking me, and putting his butt in my face, and leaves. I can hear him, walking around the house, laughing and talking to Parker, who is trying to fall asleep on the couch.

So I come out, and he is so excited. I go to make him a bottle, and he follows me. Happy as a clam to be awake at 2:30 in the AM. Then he runs over to what I think will be the chair, but no, he goes into my room, and climbs back into bed.

So I come back out, to deal with my 10 yr old insomniac, who now can't find a movie out of our library of over 100, and none of his play station games, are fun for one person.

It's now 3:14, and I have NO idea if Jack has fallen asleep! I don't hear anything so that is good...right?? And Parker has retreated back to his room, hopefully, because the stuff I gave him to make him sleep, is kicking in. Oh, and I am sitting in my chair FREEZING to death talking to all you folks! Well, when you read it anyway.

I have a concert at 2:00, at the State Capitol, in the rotunda. We'll have to stand for 45 mins straight. Usually, we have guest artists, and an orchestra, who do their own numbers, so we get to sit often, not today, it's all us. Early afternoon is when I am the most tired, and after a night like this...I am VERY afraid. But it should be really fun! They have spent the last 4 years working on the Capitol building, and are rededicating it this weekend, and having tours. So we are one of MANY choirs performing for the open house. We'll be on the big fancy stairs, in the main rotunda! I'll be sure to get pictures!

OH...and church... is at 9 AM, tomorrow! Won't THAT be nice.

One more thing, Jack has a sinus infection. I took him in, and was joking with the Dr, we hadn't been in in so long! He said...it's only been 6 weeks. UGH...SEEEMED like forever!

Hope you are all sleeping soundly, I'm off to see if it will happen for ME!!!

How things change

So for about, oh I don't know, 4 months, Jack has been signing "more". Then he got "drink". Then "please". Then nothing, for a few months.

Well, the other day, we walked into the Dr's office, and he just started signing "fish"!!(he was heading toward the fish tank) It was so cute! Then during therapy, he signed "baby", when he saw the doll, without being prompted. We were so excited!! His teacher, and I ... screamed!! Fortunately, he did it again. :) The other day, he also signed, "more please", and "All Done"!!! So cool!!!

Then today, we were looking at picture books with animals. And after I showed him the sign...he did..."ELEPHANT", "PIG", "BIRD", and "HORSE"!!! SO COOL!!!

He's also knows what a cat, cow, and dog say!

Seriously...how cool is THAT?!?!?!?!

Another couple of cool things he does... When I get his bottle, (yes he still has a bottle- to go to sleep) He runs over to the chair we always sit in, climbs up and waits for me! :) He's also, nodding and shaking his head appropriately! It's so cute!! And he knows he's funny, but I'm sure I've mentioned that before! ;)

From this...

To this!!

He's getting SO big, SO fast...I hate it! But what a sweet little boy he is. I miss my little baby, but I like this Jack too!!

things...

Yesterday was pretty good. Even left the house, made dinner, put make up on, and put real clothes on!! I've been wearing sweats! I only took m o t r i n too. But by evening, I was done. And if the sore b u m wasn't enough, I got you know what yesterday... two weeks early. UGH. Seriously...what the heck!!?!?

As far as Jack's IFSP. He is now getting speech, occupational, and teacher, twice a month. We are still waiting on the PT consult, but I'm heading to Shriner's on Wend. We'll see what they want to do. I KNOW he needs new DAFO's, and our OT thinks he may need higher ones. Higher up his leg. I'm just worried about walking and that. Guess we'll see...we all know how I LOVE that!! *rolling eyes*

And it was fun to go over his goals from 6 months ago, and realize he has done most, of most of them. If you know what I mean. Like... we had a goal he would follow directions 60 % of the time. And while it's hard to say whether he is ABLE to, or CHOOSES not to...he is doing great! Now we are working on drinking from a straw, this will be interesting. Balancing on one foot. Imitating sounds, I think we have him down for knowing 5 animals. I have this cute picture of Emma with a baby cow. He was looking at it the other day, and kind of saying...Moo! So I was thinking, we have a little farm near by, and I would love to take him over there and take pictures of him with some of the animals, and make him a little book. And then...my butt was cut open...*rolling eyes...again* But last night, he was in the tub with Em, and hollering..."MOM!" It was so funny. A long deep MOM!!! I'll try to get it on video! He is so funny.

Nick seemed better yesterday, but today, seems worse. Maybe I'll take him in tonight. My peds office has an after hours clinic, which I LOVE, but they don't open till 5:00. So now I'm just waiting for everyone else to get sick. Make the rounds ya know? *sigh*

I really wanted to go to church today, but it's just not gonna happen. First of all, I can't possibly sit for that long. Second of all, when it comes to leading the music, I really don't want to be getting up, and sitting cautiously, ya know? It's embarrassing enough. Don't really want to stand up in front of everyone. Thirdly, by the time I got everyone ready, I would need a 3 hour nap. Again, I think it's so weird, how the WHOLE body is affected, by one area being cut open.

Well that's all for today, unless something else comes up!!

Things I learned last night.

I went to an IEP workshop last night! WOW! SO great!! Here are some of the GREAT things I learned:

~I am VERY lucky to live in Murray School District. They have a fabulous Special Ed program, for Nick and Jack.

~I'm going to make up a "profile" of sorts, for Nick, to give to all his teachers. It will list his strengths, and the things he needs help with, and will have his picture on it. When I get it all typed up, let me know if you want to see it, and I'll send you a copy!

~IEP goals, are suggestions, and I am in charge! If I don't like something, I need to speak up!

~You too, can go to this workshop, and you should if you have an IEP. And live in Utah. :) Here is where to get info!

Here are somethings I learned, when I should have been in bed:

~Trampoline accidents ALWAYS happens when I'm trying to do something for one specific child.

~Emma CAN be convinced that I know best.

~Iceberg, closes at 11:00 pm. In the summer. So stupid.

~When you pull into the parking lot of PCMC's ER, and there is one space, you're not going to get in and out.

~Parents, in the ER in middle of the night, are tired, and stressed. And kids are sleepy.

~I should think about WHAT is on the floor that I just slipped on, and fell down, in front of the entire ER waiting room, before I clean it up.

~My butt WILL fall asleep with Emma asleep on my lap, for and hour and a half.

~Wake up Emma- more than we did, BEFORE starting the procedure.

~ALWAYS, ask questions, and be nice to the staff. They are nicer to you!!

~Babies in respiratory distress, stress me out. The baby behind the curtain from us couldn't breath. ugh... makes me sad, and feel yucky. I can't breathe either.

~Watching a little girl come in on an ambulance, is yucky. And when it's 2 am, it's worse.

~The freeway to my house, from the hospital, is COMPLETELY empty, at 3 am. The entire 11 mile stretch home, I was the only one on the road. And, it looks completely different.

~Emma looks like Frankenstein!...

July Yippee, and more stress...

I told you I've been crawling out of this hellish life/hole, I've dug for myself, right!Well...

I would like to announce to the world wide web: I have made dinner AND kept the kitchen clean for almost a week!!! I just couldn't contain myself!

I seriously deserve a medal!! I've been in that...fix something for Emma, make Jack a bottle, and the rest fend for yourselves. Or ...pizza, chinese, or Arby's. I know...it's sad. And...eat it walking around the house, or sitting on the couch, or on the floor, on a blanket sometimes. There were NEVER an clean dishes, cuz emptying the dishwasher is a boys' chore. So it was emptied over time as you needed something.

So this week, I decided to turn it all around, and Steve asked me to! :) We have had a meal, at the table, with REAL plates, and a clean kitchen at the end of the night, for a week.

It's been hard, but so worth it! Thanks for letting me share!!

~*~
So... Nick is all registered for school. UGH! We've already had a problem. As I told you before Nick got an IEP at the end of last year. Part of it includes a very cool class, every day, called applied skills. Well, it wasn't on his schedule. *sigh* Which means, the "assisted ed"(instead of special ed) teacher hasn't looked over Nicks schedule. We talked to, NOT, his guidance councilor, and she is fixing it. (she was available, and his was not-they go by alphabet) But it does make me nervous. If it's starting out this way...ya know? I';m going to a workshop tonight, about getting the most out of your IEP, so I'm hoping that will help!

I'll keep you posted on that.

~*~
Also, my neighbor, invited Parker to go "camping" with them. It is for 3 days, and about 2 hours away. They are going to Bear Lake, with a bunch of people from her mom's work. And she told me, a lot of those people drink(not lemonade and soda) and such. We decided not to let him go. I feel so bad. I know how much he wanted to go, I want to go! I just don't think he is old enough to go away for 3 days. He is also very impulsive and distracted. He wanders off, and doesn't even know he did. He also has been dealing with panic attacks. They have gotten better, but you never know when one is going to pop up. AND he has trouble sleeping. He has slept over at their house a few times, and come home at 2 am, cuz he couldn't sleep and had a panic attack! I know, he's almost 10. But he just isn't ready. I'm trying to "go with my boobs", and trust my mommy instinct. But he is SO mad, and hurt. I don't know. Any insight you might have would help. Even to validate me!!

~*~
Well, I'm off to PTA meeting, to official start the school year. Last year I brought someone to make sure I don't sign up for stuff. This year, I'm going it alone. Wish me luck!!!

I'm here...treading water...

Sorry it's been so long. Many emotional things going on. Trying to crawl out of the hellish life I've dug for myself. I'm on the up climb I think. I hope. It is up to me after all.

So let's see... with my Mom's help, The boys are getting there room cleaned up. They have bunk beds that have been stacked since Jack was born, but Parker feeling isolated I guess, on top. So last night we moved their beds around, and their furniture. They LOVE it! And Emma and Jack like it too, cuz they can play in there now. My mom said, "How does so much stuff get on their floor?" I said..."Seriously...they just drop it when they are done!" Anyway, I hope they will keep it nice. And ya, ya, I need to make them. *sticking tongue out*

Jack is just all over the place. Yesterday, he climbed onto my chair, up the back, and was playing with stuff on the mantel. OY VEY... Every time I turn around, he is into something else! We've missed alot of church this summer, for lots of reasons, illness, out of townness, laziness. So people haven't really seen Jack walking yet. In our womens meeting, some one was addressing the group, and commented on Jack walking. And what a miracle he is.

You know, I forget. When he's splashing in the toilet, eating poop like it's a brownie, or dumping out a bag of cereal on the floor, or throwing a hissy fit, cuz I walked by and didn't pick him up. I don't know how I could forget , but I do. I look at him now, and I don't think there is anything wrong with him. He has his MRI on the 13th. I'm SO curious what it will show. So curious. His ankle turn in still when he walks, and I haven't put his DAFO's on in weeks. I'm sure they don't even fit him now. But he is doing good, so I don't worry. BUT...I worry that he should wear them, and I'm causing him future problems. Whatever...

Emma is doing better everyday. We had her follow up last week, and a renal ultrasound. They found that her right kidney is still dilated. Which is normal, but needs to be rechecked. And...they are going to have to do a nuclear cystogram, which is to put it lightly....HORRID. The last time she had it done, she was MORTIFIED, to say the least. *sigh* I think I'm going to call and see if I can get her some valium or something. It's not till Sept 29th. But I am SO not looking forward to it. This one, I can't sugarcoat. UGH... When we went to the hospital for her follow up, she wanted to go to the fountain near the front door, and make a wish. Her wish..."I wish I didn't have to have surgery". It's funny, and sad.

So Nick. Nick turns 12 a week from Friday. I'm not sure how I feel about this. I'm trying not to think about how old it makes me. But this 12th birthday weekend, is HUGE. He starts Jr High on his birthday. He graduates from Primary, our children's church group. And starts going to Young Men's, our church youth group. He also will become a deacon, and pass the Sacrament. Here's another great article about all his changes at church. Of course I think he's not ready. But I'm pretty sure every mom does. They have also invited Nick to go to Youth Conference. THIS gave me a panic attack. It's a fun spiritual weekend, that when I was a teenager, you couldn't go till you were 14. This is on a smaller level, so the 12 and 13 yr old CAN go. ANYWAY....lots of changes coming up for Nick. And me...wish me luck!

So I decided to try a sippy cup with Jack again... Check it out...again...ignore me...you can here him SWALLOW!!! Sorry, I can't get it to embed. Stupid google.

So that is us, Oh...and check kid-isms, there is a new one!!!
